2004 saw Dave finishing, producing and mixing Marillion’s latest album Marbles signed to EMI – their singles You’re Gone charting at No. 7 and Don’t Hurt Yourself (No. 12) saw them return to the UK charts after many years. Dave has worked with Marillion extensively and has also produced the remarkable sounding albums Brave, Afraid of Sunlight, Anoraknophobia, as well as mixing This Strange Engine.
Dave has also engineered for producer Stephen Hague and worked on acts like New Order, Pere Ubu, PIL and The House Of Love and produced albums for The Power of Dreams, Skin Games, and the Milltown Brothers. Dave is also developing unsigned band For Ramona.
Dave used Wave Arts plug-ins exclusively in the mixing and mastering of the new Marillion live albums Smoke and Mirrors. He states: “I especially like how musical and warm they sound… most other plug-ins I’ve tried just seem to sound and feel cold and technical”.
