Hi there.

We use Harris Velocity ESX edit systems and have the latest version of Power Suite installed, mainly for audio compression of Stereo tracks.

Using the Basic Compressor preset that comes with MultiDynamics it seems that either our edit system or the VST plugin does not like clips over 1 hour in duration. What occurs if you try to compress audio over this duration is the system returns a clip that is exactly 1hour 39min 3sec and 17frames in duration, every single time.  In addition to this, the system seems to select a random point at which to start the audio compression.

However, if you cut the clip into smaller pieces, say just under 1 hour, it seems to handle the compression and create a new audio clip of the correct duration and starting from the correct point.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues?

Cheers.

Hi Philip- strange, I wouldn’t expect the plug-in behavior to change based on clip length, it simply processes whatever data is passed to it.  Does it occur with other Wave Arts plug-ins, and does the system work ok with long clips and any other brand plug-in?
