Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) using wavearts plugins with audacity or cubase LE? I’m wondering which program would be better to use, particularly in the noise removal arena. Cheers

An obvious question in hindsight (and after a bit of trial and error). Audacity is open source, and cubase is a professional studio application. The MR noise plugin demo will not work properly on the current stable version of audacity (1.2.3). I got some astounding results with cubase however. I’m aiming to secure a contract to digitize several thousand casettes for an organisation, and I think MR click and noise will be just the ticket for a demo for my work. Some of those tapes are pretty lousy.

We try to make sure the plug-ins work equally well in different hosts; what sort of problems were there in Audacity?

Glad the plug-ins gave you nice results.

Audacity

Basically Audacity will not support VST plugins with nice fancy interfaces like MRnoise. The program attempts to bastardize the plugin into its own stupefyingly dull visual format, and the result is a bunch of little ‘enter number fields’ that don’t seem to make much sense. All in charming beige.
