I currently use power couple v4. If I upgrade to v5, will my existing files open with v5 plugs set to the same parameters--or will I have both versions available with the option to employ either?

The version 5 plug-ins will exist alongside the version 4 plug-ins, so you can use them at the same time. As a result, existing files will not open with v5 plugins set to the same parameters, but you can export your v4 presets to v5.
