FinalPlug 5 Attenuation readout?

Hi,

Maybe I’m dense, but I can’t get my head around the Attentuation readout above the Attenuation meter in FinalPlug 5.

Say I have set a threshold of -6dB and a ceiling of 0.2dB. If I get a peak showing -3dB on the leftmost meter, I correctly get a readout of -0.2dB on the Ceiling meter and I see the Attenuation swing down about halfway to the -6dB mark.

BUT, the Attenuation readout will only show something like -0.4dB!

What’s up with this? Shouldn’t the readout mirror the meter? If not, which one should I trust?

I should add that on the same system (OS 10.3.9, DSP Quattro as VST or AU host) FinalPlug 4 shows correlating values of Attenuation meter an readout. So I switched back, until I can get to the bottom of this.

Best regards,

//Joey

This is likely a bug… if you notice FinalPlug’s attenuation meter is “two tone” (meaning it keeps track of min and max attenuation within each meter update) and it looks like the peak is recording the minimum value rather than the maximum value.  This is easy to fix on our end and will be part of the next update coming out within the next couple days.

Wow, guys, you squashed that one PDQ! Thank you very much - I’m back to FinalPlug 5!
