Now that SONAR 7 supports internal side-chaining, will TrackPlug 5.35 work with it?

Thanks in advance,

I am getting in touch with Cakewalk about this, as we’d certainly like to get sidechaining working in VST.  The VST spec doesn’t directly support sidechain like RTAS, Audio Units, etc. but VST plug-ins have used workarounds, so we’ll plan to get something working with Sonar at least.

Thanks Rob. I’d love to be able to use the TrackPlug side-chain in SONAR.

yeah, that would be great!  Consider doing it in a way that is compatible with Live as well, as audio can be routed to extra plugin inputs quite easily.

Thanks,

Yes they do.  See http://wavearts.com/TrackPlugFAQ.html for more info.

Does this also support sidechaining in Sonar 6?

Someone can feel free to correct me, but I don’t think Cakewalk added sidechain functionality for third party VSTs until version 7.

That’s correct, it’s a new feature in SONAR 7 smile
