OS 10.5.8
2x2.26 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
8 gig of Ram

Cubase 4.5.2
Melodyne 1.0.4.2
Travelor Motu

I am have problems with melodyne and Track plug.  When I play them separately no problem.  When I play them together crackls and pops in the trackplug.  I have tried rebuild both plugins with the same result.  I had no issues with the 2 on my pre intel mac dual 1.8 gig 3 gig of ram.  I tranferred the files to my new computer and with this result.

I have a client coming in a few days for a week of intense recording and just want to make sure this issue is resolved.

I Love track plug I use it on just about everything and use melodyne on a lot of stuff as well

I would really love a quick fix!

Sorry, I didn’t notice the title of the thread, just read the message!

I will try to reproduce here on an Intel Mac- what sort of audio settings are you using as far as sample rate, buffer size, etc?  Everything works fine with Cubase?  If you try the Audio Unit version, does it work better?

I tried here with Melodyne 3.2 on Intel Mac and everything seems to work fine, even with very low (64 sample) buffer size- how old is Melodyne 1.0.4.2?

44.1/24 bit
512 buffer size

It is happening on both 44.1 abd 48 hz files.  Out of about 12 songs it is happening on at least half of them I will try the audio unit version.  I didn’t know that was an option

How do I down load the audio Unit? Is it the Widows version?  The down load page only gives me those two options.

All the Mac formats (Audio Unit, VST, MAS and RTAS) are in the Mac Power Suite installer.  You can select which ones you want to install.

it is the plugin version Mac that goes into cubase

Cubase 4.5.2 is the host application with Melodyne plugin 1.0.4.2 and Wavearts trackplug 5.47 from powersuite .

OK I see, so are you using the Melodyne plugin, and TrackPlug together on one track in Cubase?  Does it make a difference if you turn off/on Comp/Gate sections or the limiter?  Is the RTA on?  I’m still not able to reproduce anything like that here, but I’ll try to help narrow the problem down.

Hi Rob I have experimented and it makes no difference with the Limiter on RTA eq the only thing that effects it is the enable of the compressor

here are my settings eq enable no eq though compression1 on. limiter on
threshold -30 ratio 4.0.1 gain 8.2 attack 2 release 100 vitage mode type off medium knee look ahead off.

As I said earlier I have reproduced this with different settings.  The only thing that helps is to turn the melodyne off or the compressor.  When they are both on the compress pops and not at the ends of phrases and such but seemingly at random (not in time with the music, or when played back at the same place.

Hi,

What happens if you switch to clean compressor type? Do the clicks go away?

Thanks,

Bill

Same problem with MultiDynamics 5 plugin.  I am using MultiDynamics 5 plugin as an insert it was the cause and extreme spike which set my Masterverb into about 15 second thunder roll!!  So far no problems after putting it into clean mode instead of vintage.  I have switched it back to vintage and reproduced it.  It is now back on clean and no problems so after playing the song through 3 times.
