The vintage and clean compressors are two completely different algorithms, i.e., different code. So perhaps there is a bug in the vintage compressor that is causing problems. We’ll look into it.

Thanks I have stopped using the vintage for now and no problems so far!!  I really appreciate your quick response!!  I have people in my studio for the next week and glad the problem is addressed for now!!

We have a few reports of similar problems, all seem to involve spurious noises when using vintage compressor on intel Mac, but we’re unable to reproduce even when using the same presets. One thing that would be really helpful would be an example audio snippet capturing the corruption, just a few seconds would suffice. Please mail it to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Obviously we really want to find and fix this problem.

Please see the end of this thread, I’ve put up a new beta (5.49) which implements peak indicators in TrackPlug, to help narrow down this problem:
